About the One Health Africa Collaborative Hub
The Hub is the African pillar of the One Health Working Group (OHWG) of the World Federation of Public Health Associations. It brings together experts, institutions and communities across Africa to advance collaboration in human, animal and environmental health.
Africa faces recurring zoonotic epidemics (Ebola, Rift Valley fever, rabies), a heavy burden of antimicrobial resistance and climate-related health threats.
The Hub promotes evidence-based solutions, community engagement and regional policy dialogue to address these unique challenges.
Our Main Objectives
Implementation of a multidisciplinary collaborative research platform and systemic thinking. Development of projects on the six One Health pillars. Focus on emerging zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, climate change impact and food security.
Mapping of One Health training needs. Development of innovative programs: Masters and University diplomas in One Health Science, certified continuing education, specialized e-learning modules, practical field training.
Integrated disease surveillance system. Shared database on zoonoses. Predictive analysis tools and systemic dashboards. Alert bulletins and situation summaries.
Innovative pedagogical methodologies. Educational resources in French and English and Arabic. Practical case studies and mentoring by recognized experts.
